Having fast achieved the title of the number 1 e-commerce marketplace China is now the number one digital advertising marketplace.

Nikkei Asia media in Japan reported today that China's digital advertising jumped 45% to $23.7 billion in 2014, accounting for 50.9% of the market for the entire Asian region. The online newspaper quoted China advertising surged to $6.4 billion in 2014.

Japan was second in the region, with advertising expenditures of $9.1 billion, up 7%, followed by Australia, where digital advertising rose 18% to $4.5 billion. China's rapid growth has been via mobile smart phones and tablet devices. Mobile ads accounted for 27% of all digital advertising in China.

“The amount of time Chinese people spend using their mobile devices is astounding” said Mr. Burns, GM of China Sales Co. “Companies must-take into account mobile WAP technology as part of their digital strategy in China.”

The big increase included a jump in mobile ads which accounted for 27% of all digital advertising in China.

Nikkei also stated that the Asia-Pacific region is expected to surpass North America in market share in 2017, becoming the world's largest digital advertising market.
